Paper 3 first draft Paper 3 final draft Reflection When I wrote the first draft of Paper 3, I didn't realize that my paper focused more on the benefits of immigration for immigrants, not for the U.S. I was confused about the prompt's quesiton, so I asked Professor Lee for help. She explained clearly and suggest me to focus on how immigration benefits the country. For example, I can rewrite immigration as a continuation of the American Dream. This helped me understand the topic more deeply and gave me a clear direction to revise my paper. One important thing I learned is that fully understanding the prompt is very important. It helps me stay on topic and write a stronger, clearer essay.

After reading the teacher’s feedback, I realized I needed to add more support from the readings. In the final draft, I added quotes from The Distance Between Us and A Brief History of Immigration in the United States , which made my writing stronger. I also worked on improving my organization and topic sentences. This writing process taught me that good writing needs revision and clear structure. I also learned that using both personal experience and class sources can make my ideas more powerful.
