1. Signed American Language Classroom Agreement + How to avoid cheating and plagiarzing
In my opinion, to avoid cheating and plagiarizing, I will make sure to do my own work and manage my time well. I’ll read the material carefully and always cite my sources properly when using others’ ideas.. If I’m unsure about something, I’ll ask my teacher or tutor for help. I’ll avoid copying answers or using online translators to do my work. Most importantly, I will stay honest and focused on learning.
American Language Writing Class Agreement
I will do my own work.
· This means that I will not copy writing from another source. I
will not use work that either I or someone I know has previously submitted. I
will not pay anyone to do my work for me. I will not have a family member or
friend (or paid service!) do my work for
me. Engaging in this behavior is academic dishonesty. This behavior does not
allow me to learn or grow as a writer, as a student, or as a person.
· I acknowledge that I will complete my writing in the allotted time
during weeks 1, 2 and 6.
· I acknowledge that I will complete all of my assignments on my own
(except for team work).
I will ask questions if I have any because I know that asking
questions is how everyone learns.
I will follow the schedule and submit my work on time because I
know that the schedule has been set up to allow me to build my skills as I go
forward. If I have an issue, I will contact my teacher or my team to seek help
right away.
I will use the appropriate college resources to help me achieve my
goals.
I will try my best on all of my work.
I will use a growth mindset for this class.
· This means that I will make mistakes but I will try to learn from
them. I may fail some assignments, but I will become a stronger writer because
of this. It means that I know that I am not perfect, but I will get better with
effort. It means that I will try my best, and sometimes I will be frustrated.
But in the end, I will learn more than I ever thought I could.
